The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and here in Central Maine we know just how to help get you in the holiday spirit! We have a little bit of everything from fabulous light displays to taking in a holiday show. Take a peek below to see just what our community has to offer this month.

A highlight of the season is the wonderful light displays put on by businesses and community members. Pack up your family and some of your favorite holiday treats and take a ride around town while following this year’s Light Up the Town map. Travel from Waterville, Winslow, to Vassalboro while taking in beautiful light displays such as Candy Cane Wonderland and Holiday on the Hill. Don’t worry, we have more! Don’t miss out on Elmer’s Christmas Wonderland. Walk around with your family and enjoy all of the Christmas inflatables and lights that Elmer’s has to offer.

Looking for an indoor activity? With the reopening of the Waterville Public Library comes Crafternoons for December! Swing by the Children’s room to pick up your craft kits and be sure to tune into their Facebook page for an online demonstration.  Be sure to share your finished projects with them! Looking to slow down and enjoy a nice show? Don’t miss out on the Bossov Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker. This timeless classic will surely help spread some holiday cheer. 

This year you will not want to miss the 5^th annual Joy to the Ville celebration, which coincides with the grand opening of the Paul J. Schupf Art Center! Be sure to join in on the holiday fun which will include art exhibitions, holiday movies, art demonstrations, conversations with local artists, as well as your chance to create a masterpiece (or two) of your own. All activities are free and everyone is invited to join in on the fun!

Don’t stay inside this winter though! The Quarry Road Trails is offering Community Free Ski Saturdays! They will be offering Nordic Clinics and Ski Clinics. Brush up on your skills or maybe take up a new hobby this winter?
