Spring in Maine: Getting Back Outside

There’s a certain shift this time of year in Maine.

The days are getting longer, the air feels a little different, and people are starting to get back outside. After a long winter, even the simple things—fresh air, a little sunshine, and getting things done around the house—feel like a reset.

Around town, you can see it everywhere. Yards are coming back to life, gardens are getting prepped, and weekends are starting to fill up again. It’s that time of year where everything starts moving.

With that comes a full lineup of local events that make it even easier to get out and be part of the community.

We’re excited to be part of the 10th Annual Thomas College Dirty Dog Mud Run—a fun, high-energy event that brings people together and gives everyone a reason to enjoy the season.

The One in Five 5K is another great opportunity to get involved, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center and its services for survivors—an incredible cause making a real impact in our community.

And it’s always great to see local businesses continue to grow. The Finery Formal Wear and The Robin’s Nest will be celebrating their ribbon cutting on April 10th, bringing everything from high-end formal wear to beautiful floral designs to the local community.

It’s events like these that really make spring in our area feel like spring.

In Case You Missed It: What’s Been Happening at Central Maine Motors

It’s been a busy start to the year across our teams, and we wanted to take a moment to recognize a few things we’re really proud of:

  • Liem Fortin recently brought home a Bronze Medal at the State Skills Competition for Automotive Skills—a great accomplishment and a reflection of the talent and dedication he brings to the industry.
  • Logan Brown reached an incredible milestone by becoming a World Class GM Technician, successfully completing all of his ASE and GM certifications—an achievement that takes a lot of hard work and commitment.
  • Our team also took part in the 33rd Annual Polar Plunge to support the Alfond Youth & Community Center. Shoutout to Nick Tuttle, Doug Marble, Joey Frechette, Ty Machado, and Mike Juliano (also known as the Chunky Dunkies) for jumping in-literally-for a great cause.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone out and about this spring—whether it’s at one of these events or just enjoying a nice day outside.
