Music, Festivals & More

There’s no better time to explore Central Maine than in the heart of summer. At Central Maine Motors, we love seeing our community come alive with local events, outdoor gatherings, and small-town traditions that make this area such a great place to live—and visit.
If you’re looking to make the most of July, here’s what’s happening around town:
Music throughout Central Maine
All summer long, Central Maine comes alive with free outdoor concerts featuring a mix of local and regional musicians. Whether you’re unwinding by the river or enjoying a night downtown, there’s something for every music fan. This July, don’t miss performances by favorites like the Adam Ezra Group with Bella Ann, The Mallett Brothers Band, and Matt Gagnon as part of local town’s summer concert series. So, grab your lawn chair, bring your friends and soak up the sounds of summer.
Maine International Film Festival (MIFF) – Downtown Waterville
For movie lovers, MIFF is a highlight of the summer season. Showcasing independent films from around the world, MIFF brings a vibrant cultural experience right to downtown Waterville. This year, the festival runs from July 11th through July 20th—a fantastic opportunity to enjoy compelling stories and connect with fellow film enthusiasts.
Art in the Park – Thursdays in Castonguay Square
Looking for a fun, creative way to spend a Thursday afternoon? Head to Castonguay Square, where families and community members gather each week for a read-aloud story and an art activity inspired by the theme of the day. It’s free, welcoming to all ages, and a great way to get creative together—no experience required! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the fun moves indoors to the Paul J. Schupf Art Center.
Mark your calendars for OakFest on July 25th and 26th! This community celebration includes live music, a street dance, open-air market, food trucks, and activities for all ages. It’s one of the most anticipated events of the season—and a great way to experience small-town fun at its best.
From live music and local art to film festivals and community celebrations, summer in Central Maine offers something for everyone. At Central Maine Motors, we’re proud to be part of a region that values connection, creativity, and hometown spirit.
