Mother’s Day Ideas (Beyond the Usual)

Flowers and chocolate are always a safe bet—but if you want to switch it up this year, consider giving Mom something she really doesn’t get enough of: time to relax. A spa day is an easy win. Whether it’s a massage, facial, or mani/pedi, it’s a more personal way to show appreciation. Local spots like Apollo Salon & Spa and People’s Salon & Spa make it easy to give her a day she’ll enjoy. Keep it simple with a gift card or turn it into a full day together—and of course, flowers and chocolate are still encouraged.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend tends to kick off summer—grills going, family and friends getting together, and a little more time outside. If you’re planning a BBQ, picking up fresh local meat from Joseph’s Market or Emery’s Meat & Produce is a great place to start. From burgers to steaks, quality ingredients make all the difference.

A quick nod to what the day stands for: Memorial Day is about remembering and honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country. It’s a chance to pause, reflect, and appreciate those sacrifices—while also spending time with the people around you and enjoying the freedoms they helped protect.

Kolby Wescott

This month, we’re featuring one of our Toyota technicians, Kolby Wescott. When he’s not working in the shop, he’s out on the track racing this season—so we asked him a few questions to get to know him a little better.

How did you get into racing?
I come from a long line of family that was involved in racing. My grandfather started back in the 60s at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough Maine. Later meeting my grandmother and together they worked at the track for 50 years. My grandfather getting a lifetime achievement award from the racetrack. My parents tell a story that I was 3 months old the first time I went to the track.

What’s been your favorite moment racing so far?
I think my favorite memory I have of racing was the first time I went to the Oxford 250. Which is the Dayton 500 for Maine racers. That race was always one that my father and grandfather would go in the pits for and at the time you needed to be 13 to get into the pits. So, the first time I got to go and see the experience, the excitement of such a big race that has been running now for over 50 years was a very cool moment. And looking back now to know I am going to do it with my father and grandfather makes it so much more memorable.

What’s something you’re looking forward to this season?
Getting back to the track with my closest friends a family. Racing is a family tradition that takes a lot of help from everyone involved. I’m excited to go into the 2026 season with great sponsors that are willing to back me to do something I enjoy. And being with my friends and family at the track making memories.

What are you most looking forward to as we head into summer?
As we head into summer, we’re looking forward to more community events, more time outside, and helping you along the way—whether that’s with your vehicle search, service needs, or just staying connected with what’s happening locally.
