Fall Festivities
There is something special about fall in New England. Whether you are looking to spend the day picking apples with your family or taking a scenic drive to enjoy the foliage, Central Maine has something for everyone. Here is a list of just a few things we try to check off our fall bucket list every year!
What better way to bring in the season than to decorate your home? Fall crafts are a must. Central Maine offers many local craft fairs. Here you can find anything from homemade jewelry, preserves, to home décor. Are you feeling a little more adventurous? You can always sign up for lessons on pottery, painting, to wreath making. Check out Waterville Creates page for a list of just some of the amazing classes being offered locally!
If you are more of a foodie, why not visit the local farmers market to stock up on some tasty fall treats. Stop by the Downtown Waterville Farmers Market on Thursday afternoons and you will not leave empty handed. From your choice of late summer and fall vegetables, farm raised meats, and fresh baked goods our local farmers have you covered!
We didn’t forget our sports fans. Football, soccer, field hockey, we’ve got you covered! Our high school athletes are guaranteed to get their fans cheering in the stands. There is nothing better than gathering together as a community to support your favorite team.
Are your kids counting down the days to Halloween? We didn’t forget them! Looking for mild scares to being really spooked, check out the Haunted House at the Children’s Discovery Museum. Would you rather get all of your trick or treating done in one stop? Don’t miss the Alfond Youth & Community Center’s second Trunk or Treat & Open House. Fill up your candy bags, take a guided tour, and do not miss out on the raffle giveaways!
This is just a small sampling of what Central Maine has to offer this fall. Don’t miss out on apple picking, pumpkin carving, hayrides and bonfires. Where will the road take you?
