August is off to an amazing start here in Central Maine! Many of us made our way to the Head of Falls to celebrate the Taste of Waterville where we were able to enjoy many of the area’s best food trucks and local musicians. While it was great to gather together and enjoy some of what our community has to offer there are a few local hidden gems that you don’t want to miss out on!

A great place to visit, if it’s not already one of your top spots, is Meridians in downtown Fairfield. Their delicious farm to table menu and relaxing atmosphere will have you coming back again and again. Back in Waterville you will not want to pass up the opportunity to drop by the Wild Clover Cafe & Market. Using local products to create a menu with a European flair, you will not be disappointed. Just don’t forget to grab a coffee or tea to go with your pastry for the road!

If you are looking for something a little more adventurous we have some great options you won’t want to miss out on. Jewel of India in downtown Waterville has all of your favorite Indian dishes. The variety of options available will leave your taste buds tantalized and your appetite satisfied. Just down the road be sure to check out the Iraqi Kabab Market. A Middle Eastern Grocery and Deli that serves up some delicious homemade foods that will leave you wanting more!

Angry Lobster Disc Golf is just the place to head to if you are looking for a fun day with your family. An 18-Hole course built through a beautiful woods and fields on a historic property. Be sure to take in the old stone walls and little touches that make this course a hidden gem! More of a thrill seeker? Did you know that you can book a tandem skydive right here at the Lafleur Airport? The rush of wind through your hair as you free-fall from thousands of feet in the air is something that cannot be compared to any other activity.
