Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday Close to Home

This July, communities across Central Maine are coming together to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with events for all ages.

The Central Maine Fourth of July Celebration in Clinton returns with one of the area’s favorite traditions, featuring a parade, family activities, live entertainment, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display.

The celebration continues the following weekend with Fairfield’s America 250 Celebration, featuring live music, family-friendly activities, local vendors, and community gatherings. It’s another great opportunity to celebrate with friends, neighbors, and visitors from across the region.

Whether you attend one event or both, it’s a wonderful way to celebrate 250 years of American history while creating new memories with family, friends, and your community.

Community Day at Colby College

Community Day at Colby College brings together local organizations, activities, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with neighbors. It’s a fun event for all ages and a great reminder of what makes our community so special.

Maine International Film Festival (MIFF)

The Maine International Film Festival returns to Waterville this July, bringing filmmakers, movie lovers, and visitors together for one of the region’s premier summer events. With independent films, documentaries, and special screenings, MIFF continues to showcase the creativity and culture that make Central Maine such a vibrant place to visit and explore.

Summer Concert Series Across Central Maine

Nothing says summer quite like an evening of live music. Throughout July, communities across Central Maine host free outdoor concerts, giving residents and visitors plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy local entertainment. From Waterville Rocks to community concert series in Fairfield and Oakland, these events are a great way to gather with family and friends while supporting local musicians.

The Oxford 250. It’s three nights of racing featuring some of the best late model drivers from across New England and beyond. It’s also the one time each year my family and I go camping, so it’s a tradition I always look forward to.

“Home is my favorite place to spend a summer day. I love taking the kids out on the 4-wheeler trails, then coming back for a BBQ while they play on the trampoline.”
