Begin Your Holiday Season
The holiday season is a time for joy, celebration, and giving. It’s a time to come together with loved ones, cherish special moments, and express gratitude for the blessings in our lives. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the season, it’s important to take a step back, slow down, and truly appreciate the spirit of the holidays.
In the rush to complete holiday tasks and obligations, it’s easy to overlook the simple pleasures that make the season special. It is a time to connect with family and friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Why not start by spending the day celebrating the 6th annual Joy to the Ville community celebration? With activities for all ages it is sure to get you into the holiday spirit. Don’t forget about your furry family members! Loyal Biscuit on Main Street in Waterville will be hosting a “Howl-iday Open House” complete with dog nog and hot chocolate!
The spirit of the holidays extends beyond personal joy and encompasses the well-being of others. Whether you choose to join a fun event, like Yoga with cats at the Humane Society, or donate your time or money to help our area soup kitchens and food banks, or simply extending a helping hand to those in need, the act of giving not only makes a difference in the lives of others but also enriches your own heart and spirit.
Engage in activities that hold special meaning for you and your loved ones. Bake holiday treats together, decorate the house, or attend traditional events like caroling or tree lighting. These traditions strengthen bonds and create lasting memories. Here are just a few of our employees’ favorite holiday traditions:
My favorite tradition is when my family goes to get the tree first thing in the morning and we all pile in and tell stories about past Christmases and we watch Christmas Vacation while decorating it and having apple cider… it’s the little things in life. –Laurie
I enjoy cooking a gourmet meal for my family and then getting to spend time with them at my farm. –Drew
I just enjoy getting to spend Christmas Eve with my kids and family. –Jeff L
One of my favorite traditions is getting Chinese food and spending time with family on Christmas Eve. –Tori
We watch Monty Python and The Holy Grail while we unwrap our gifts. A tradition started with my father. –Wendy
We all get together and take turns unwrapping gifts. We go one at a time and it takes about 2 hours! – Larry
We make cookies and ornaments every year. –Holly
Remember, the holiday season is not about the presents under the tree or the perfect decorations. It’s about cherishing the moments with loved ones, giving back to the community, and finding joy in the simple things. By slowing down, connecting with others, and practicing gratitude, you can truly embrace the spirit of the season and create a holiday experience that is both meaningful and memorable.
