Welcome to April, Central Maine! This month is bursting with excitement, from celestial wonders to muddy adventures and a vibrant arts scene. Mark your calendars and get ready for some fun!

On April 8th, a rare total solar eclipse will grace the skies. Join the viewing party at the Lawrence Public Library for a special experience. There you can view the eclipse while enjoying activities and snacks. They will have viewing glasses available first come first serve! However, if you are planning to view the eclipse from home, don’t forget your glasses! If you haven’t gotten yours yet, head over to the Waterville Public Library and grab your very own “Eclipse Survival Kit.” It will include a pair of glasses as well as a stellar sweet treat.

Get ready to get dirty! The Dirty Dog Mud Run returns to Thomas College on April 14th. Grab your friends, form a team, and prepare to conquer a challenging mud-filled obstacle course. The art scene explodes this April! The Waterville Opera House, Maine Film Center, and Snow Pond Center for The Arts all have a fantastic lineup of events throughout the month. Whether you are looking for a great musical theater performance, comedy show, or even pet theater be sure to grab your tickets at the Waterville Opera House.

 If a movie night is what you are looking for the Maine Film Center is where you want to be. They have a great selection of movies opening this month as well as recordings of some of your favorite theater performances. Don’t forget to grab your snacks and popcorn!

For our music enthusiasts, be sure to grab your tickets to Being Petty: Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Experience at Snow Pond Center for the Arts. Playing all of the hits that fans love as well as some deep cuts that you won’t want to miss.. To take the whole show up a notch, you can start the evening with a pre-show dinner right at the venue! Offering a build your own taco bar with all your favorite options, why would you pass this up?
